QUOTE FROM THE HEART
In each issue of Heartsong, I will open with a
quote, poem or lyric, which I have found
inspiring and uplifting. I hope they will
inspire you, as well! Today, I'm sharing two
quotes with you about the importance of
planning. I hope you find them both inspiring
and helpful.
"Four steps to achievement: Plan purposefully.
Prepare prayerfully. Proceed positively. Pursue
persistently."
William A. Ward
"Plan your progress carefully; hour-by hour,
day-by-day, month-by-month. Organized activity
and maintained enthusiasm are the wellsprings of
your power."
Paul J. Meyer
A NOTE FROM KIM
Welcome to today's issue of Heartsong! I simply
can't believe that it's August already! Where is
2007 going? At this rate it'll be Christmas
before we turn around twice! Let's enjoy each
and celebrate every single day as it passes,
knowing that we really can help to make the
world a better place, each in our own special
way.
My promised ecourse, Seven Steps Towards Greater
Tranquility, will be available by the time you
receive your next Heartsong issue. I'm giving it
a few final tweaks, and am also adding a couple
fabulous bonus products for your enjoyment, as
well. I know you'll find this course very useful
for gaining greater peace, balance and
inspiration in all areas of your life, and I
can't wait to unveil it in the next issue! Stay
tuned!
Until next time, enjoy the rest of today's
issue, and I send you all my love!
Blessings,
Kim
FROM THE LIGHTHOUSE, WITH LOVE
A lighthouse serves as a beacon of hope in a
violent storm. A lighthouse sheds light on our
worries and troubles, and brings us joy and
peace. Therefore, in each Heartsong issue, I
will include an article, which will help to
guide you through the dark and troubled times,
or lighten and brighten your heart and life in a
special way. In today's Lighthouse article,
we're discussing the power to be had by planning
ahead.
"Setting The Course: The Power of Planning to
Simplify Your Life"
Once upon a time, not so very long ago in the
early 1960s, there was an ambitious young man
named John. He was a highly talented songwriter
and musical arranger, and his most pressing
dream was to be the primary writer and arranger
for the next big folk group. Over the first
several years of that turbulent decade, John
arranged and recorded several singles and three
albums with his three-piece group, but fame and
fortune wasn't exactly coming his way. By 1965,
he had formed another singing group with his
wife and two friends. In late 65, this group had
managed to land a record contract with a top
L.A. producer. One afternoon, the foursome drove
out to the famous Hollywood Bowl, and looked
down over the city below them. John said, "By
this time next year, we'll have played a concert
here, and we'll have won a Grammy."
John had a lot of wonderful qualities going for
him... talent, ambition, determination, and a
strategic plan for reaching his lofty goals. He
was more than willing to work hard,
painstakingly write and arrange hundreds of
songs, tour relentlessly, and do whatever it
took to make his dreams come true. John
understood that, with enough passion,
determination and a solid plan, he was sure to
achieve measurable success.
Admittedly, I'm a creative type who sometimes
has trouble appreciating the power of planning
ahead. But as a businesswoman who creates
products, provides services and needs to market
myself in order for folks to know what I have to
offer them, planning is both a powerful and
completely essential component to my success.
Planning can be effective to anyone, in any
given area of life. Whether you're planning your
next vacation itinerary, drawing up plans for a
new home, or even writing today's grocery list,
planning is a great incentive to help you in
your forward momentum. In the long run, it also
helps to simplify life considerably.
Here are three keys to help you to get your next
important plan off the ground, and to assist you
in following through with that plan to reach
your goals with greater ease.
Step one, take the time to formulate your plan
with care. Sure, even the best laid plans can
change sometimes, but nevertheless, it's better
to take the time to complete a thorough plan
instead of just slapping something together in
five minutes. I know that each time I throw
together my grocery list in haste, I will
undoubtedly forget to write down something
important. We can save ourselves a lot of
inconvenience and worry long term by planning
carefully and studiously for our projects. When
we do this, we're almost guaranteed more
fruitful results from the start.
Step two, take consistent action using your
plan. Now that you've carefully constructed your
plan of action, take some action each and every
day to help in getting the results you desire.
This will be a little easier if you're planning
your grocery list than if you're planning your
European vacation, but in either case, taking
action daily will be constantly bringing you
closer and closer to achieving your goal, and it
will also make you feel great and skyrocket your
confidence level. Baby steps are just fine... as
long as you're doing something each day to
further the completion of your plan, you'll be
on your way to achieving it! (For more tips on
consistent action, please see the Lighthouse
article in the July 1 Heartsong issue, at:
http://www.KimLoftis.com/news/news.htm)
Step three, enjoy the journey. Often times our
journeys in life can be just as sweet or sweeter
as the results we wish to achieve at their
completion. Have fun going through your plan.
Celebrate your steps, both the big ones and the
tiny ones, and revel in all the little successes
along the way. In this way, you'll grow to
appreciate and respect yourself more, your
confidence will increase, and your success will
mean even more to you. So celebrate each
accomplishment on your journey, and have fun
along the way.
So you're probably wondering if our friend John
reached his goals by following this formula and
planning for his success. Well, by the end of
1966, John's group had celebrated a number one
hit with John's song, "Monday Monday", had won a
Grammy for the song, and had played a sold out
show at the Hollywood Bowl. That group, The
Mamas and The Papas, became one of the most
celebrated groups of the decade, and the
members, including that ambitious young
song-writer named John Phillips, had a lasting
impact on pop music and pop culture.
Creating and following through with a good plan
can tremendously increase your potential to
achieve your dreams. Planning will also simplify
your life considerably, and help you to have a
step-by-step approach to reaching your goals.
Plan carefully, take action daily, and most
importantly, enjoy the journey and have fun with
it all! Happy planning!
KIM RECOMMENDS
Although I usually recommend a book or CD in
this section, today I'd like to recommend a
really wonderful website that I've only begun
enjoying over the last few days. It's called
Whisperings Solo Piano Radio, and is a free
stream of beautiful, serene and contemplative
solo piano compositions by dozens of fantastic
independent artists. I'm actually writing this
newsletter while listening to the broadcast. If
you want to relieve stress, fuel your creative
juices or bring some gentle peace to your day,
this will do the trick! There's a free stream
you can listen to, and also a paid version for
only $5 a month, with higher sound quality, a
greater song selection, and you'll be supporting
this wonderful internet radio station, too! I
highly recommend this site for all lovers of
beautiful piano music, and anyone who wants a
little more tranquility in their lives! Please
check it out here:

Note: if you have dial-up, I'm not sure whether
the stream will work, but try it out and see!
Good luck, and enjoy!
HOPE AND HEALING
All of us need to take the time to be gentle
with ourselves. Therefore, in the first issue of
each month, Heartsong will include tips with
which you can nurture, pamper and transform all
aspects of your life. Enjoy!
"Creative Outlets"
We all need fun and creative ways to vent our
frustrations and release our inner muses and
inner children to play and explore. Some people
do this through journaling or poetry writing.
Others cook or bake magnificent dishes. Still
others craft, sew or fix up old cars into
glorious new ones. I have a friend who refers to
this as "finding your creative outlet."
What do you enjoy doing which fuels your
creativity and makes your heart sing? What
brings you serenity and helps you to forget your
worries for a while? Whatever that is, find ways
to bring more of that particular activity into
your life. Set aside time for it, and you'll be
amazed how much better you'll feel, and by how
many wonderful new ideas you'll discover to
further enhance your creativity.
Not sure where to begin? I'd love to help you in
finding a wonderful creative outlet that brings
you joy and inspires your greatness. Please
contact me for a free thirty-minute
Extraordinary Life Taster coaching session, and
we can explore how we may partner together to
help you in bringing your creativity into
greater focus. For more information about this,
please see:

I'd love to become your coach!
PRAYER FROM THE HEART
Each issue of Heartsong will feature a prayer,
either from my own heart, one which I hold dear
in my own life, or one suggested to me by
others. I hope they will speak to your spirit,
as well.
"In the house made of dawn.
In the story made of dawn.
On the trail of dawn.
O, Talking God.
His feet, my feet, restore.
His limbs, my limbs, restore.
His body, my body, restore.
His voice, my voice, restore.
His plumes, my plumes, restore.
With beauty before him, with beauty before me.
With beauty behind him, with beauty behind me.
With beauty above him, with beauty above me.
With beauty below him, with beauty below me.
With beauty around him, with beauty around me.
With pollen beautiful in his voice,
with pollen beautiful in my voice.
It is finished in beauty.
It is finished in beauty.
In the house of evening light.
From the story made of evening light.
On the trail of evening light."

HEARTSONG REFLECTION
Until our next issue, begin the creation and
implementation of your plan for successfully
achieving a goal or dream that you hold dear.
Also, think about your creative outlets... what
are they? How can you bring greater focus to
these creative pursuits in your daily life?
Love, Light and Blessings,
Kim
